Royal Academy Summer Show 2020 Entry

Portrait of Ann Widdecombe - Wefail

This year I’m entering two pieces, Fossil which was painted on tablet and The Portrait of Ann Widdecombe which was drawn in chalk. Digital painting doesn't have much luck when it comes to traditional art exhibitions, there’s a stigma to it that’s very much outdated. Painting on glass with an electronic pen has yet to be respected in the same way oils are, but my fingers are crossed that it’s noticed in the selection round.

Ann is a good backup plan, what medium has more history than a drawing made with chalk. Cavemen probably painted Ann to protect their families from evil.
